Brittany Havener | Community Outreach Marketing Coordinator
This season TableSeide Restaurant Group wants to share with you some of the beautiful stories of our family. Each month we will highlight a TableSeide Restaurant Group family member with hopes of connecting our family to yours.
Brittany is a Florida girl, born and raised. She spent her childhood meandering around the sponge docks of Tarpon Springs before moving to Odessa, a rural community north of Tampa, at age 12. For college she attended both UCF and USF in pursuit of her Marketing degree before settling in our wonderful city of Sarasota where she has resided for the last six years. Brittany has since married her husband Michael and recently given birth to their gorgeous and playful daughter, Wren.
We sat down with Brittany recently and asked her questions pertaining to her TableSeide life and beyond. Here is what she had to share...
How long have you been with TableSeide Restaurant Group?
I’ve been with TableSeide since I was 21 years old. I joke that I’ll never work anywhere else because this family knows all too much.
How and where did you get started working for TableSeide Restaurant Group?
In all honesty, I needed drinking money when I was in college and so bartending at Libby's Cafe + Bar and the LBar was my foot in the door. I then worked my way up to management, helping to implement the openings of two of our properties- Muse at The Ringling and Oak and Stone.
What do you enjoy most about working in the hospitality field?
The joy you can bring someone when you show them a great experience, whether it be something as simple as a night out to dinner or a well executed gala that we took part in catering. We love to spread smiles around here.
Is that what guests remember or say to you?
Yes! I always have a smile on my face. I could have poured myself a bowl of cereal in the morning, only to discover that there is no milk (we can all agree that is one of the worst ways to start your day), and you’d never know it.
How long have you been in your current TableSeide Restaurant Group position?
I came into my current position about a month and a half ago, after being on maternity leave for four months. I’m incredibly grateful to have had the amount of time off that I did with a new and exciting role to return to.
What are the roles and responsibilities of this new TableSeide Restaurant Group position?
It makes me so proud to work for a family-owned local business who is fully committed to our community. In this new position my job is to seek out, coordinate, and partner with local nonprofits and businesses to see how we as a company can fulfill their needs.
And when you are not enjoying your TableSeide life, what do you like to do?
My absolute favorite thing in the world is to go camping and take road trips with my husband. When life doesn't permit that, you can find me curled up in a hammock reading something by Kurt Vonnegut.
Speak any other languages?
I speak pretty good “Kitchen Spanish.” It’s a thing, I swear.
When you consider the future at TableSeide Restaurant Group what are you most excited for?
Since my start, Tableseide has grown exponentially, and I feel like I’ve experienced all the challenging and rewarding growing pains with this family along the way. I cannot wait to see what is on the horizon, especially in the world of consulting and of course the franchising possibilities of Oak and Stone.
Finally, what has been your most favorite dish ever within the locations of TableSeide Restaurant Group?
Well, my absolute favorite dish is a mix of the Four Cheese and Pear Tortellini and the Philly Cheesesteak Eggroll over at Libby's Cafe + Bar. I like to dip the eggroll in the truffle cream sauce, like a boss!
