TABLESEIDE STORIES | APRIL HIGHLIGHT

april highlight | Caroline Wright

An Englewood native, Caroline was basically born in the restaurant and hospitality industry. Caroline spent a lot of time in her family's restaurant, Howards, in Englewood. She held every position in the restaurant industry... from Manager at Domino's Pizza to Butcher at Delaney's to now Chef and Kitchen Manager at Libby's Cafe + Bar. Here is her story.

HOW DID YOU GET STARTED IN THE HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY?

I guess you can say I was born in this industry. My parents owned and operated a very successful restaurant in Englewood, Fl called Howards for 30 years. If I wasn't at school, I was at Howards. I loved everything about Howards, especially the people that worked for my parents. Kinda like a second family! It's the same way I feel about the Tableseide family. How did I get here? Blood, sweat and tears and a great sense of humor and you have to love what you do!!!!

How long have you been the Chef at Libby's?

Actually I think this month will be my 1 year anniversary as Kitchen Manager/ Chef at Libby's.

WHAT DO YOU enjoy most about the hospitality field?

The people that I have met (priceless). Everyday is different this field is definitely never boring.

WHAT is your best hospitality trait?

I would think a customer would say that I love what I do and I will go above and beyond when it comes to making their dining experience the best it can be.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TABLESEIDE RESTAURANT GROUP DISH?

Libby's Surf n' Turf Grilled Caesar.

Do you have a favorite meal or type of food that you love to eat?

Like my dad would say anything with pasta but my favorite meal would be my Mom's homemade caesar salad and my dad's spaghetti and homemade sausage.

WHAT IS the best part about being a chef?

Watching people enjoy my creations and always learning something new.

Do you have any guilty pleasure meals?

Sour gummy worms and chocolate cake with no icing.
