Tableseide partners with the city of sarasota for international compost awareness week
We always strive to be at the forefront of new sustainibility efforts and environmently friendly initiatives. To stay at the cutting edge of environmental innovation, we partnered with the City of Sarasota and Sunshine Community Compost to participate in International Compost Week. Buckets were given to each restaurant; Libby’s Café and Bar, Louies Modern and Muse at The Ringling, for the collection of vegetable and fruit scraps. These buckets, along with data, will then be collected and recorded to see how much food waste restaurants around the Sarasota community produces. The compost collected from our restaurants will be delivered to One Stop Landscape and Supply to be used as soil!
Compost is recycled organic soil made form food scraps. This recycled material is rich in nutrients and beneficial bacteria. Composting reduces landfill waste and creates a natural alternative to pesticides and fertilizers that may be harmful for people to consume.
Along with composting, all our restaurants have adopted the #StopSucking movement. In order to reduce plastic waste, we have decided to stop using plastic straws in our drinks. As a leader in the local culinary world, Tableseide believes that it is important to do as much as we can to save the planet that feeds us.
